Earth-i’s celebrates 5th birthday!
29 April 2020 – Today marks Earth-i’s 5th birthday and the Guildford-based team are celebrating remotely whilst keeping our social distance!
“This milestone has come around quickly and Earth-i has achieved and learned a lot in a short space of time”, commented Richard Blain, CEO. “The company’s origins were in SAR data with NovaSAR, which then created the opportunity to work with SSTL on a new generation of video capable small satellites. Earth-i launched the world’s first commercial colour HD video satellite with SSTL in January 2018, Vivid-X2, which provided Earth-i with a wealth of colour video data with which to develop our data exploitation techniques.”
“The Earth-i team has spent the last 2 years developing its AI based remote sensing analytics capabilities to fuse multi-operator, multi-sensor and resolution satellite imagery and video datasets to answer complex commercials questions at scale”, added Richard. “So, a really big thank you to Earth-i staff past and present for their contributions in making Earth-i the great company it is today”.
