Leveraging remote sensing technologies like satellite imaging to support natural resource exploration activities is not a new concept. Doing so in a value-adding, cost-saving and user-friendly manner has been a challenge for many years.
However, we have entered a new era of geospatial intelligence. More high-resolution imaging satellites have been launched since the beginning of 2014 than had been in the thirteen years prior. These new gold mines of information are offering accessible and affordable insight into points of interest located in most hazardous and remote corners of the globe.
Transparency is one of the themes that we are developing at Earth-i. Powered by the beautiful imagery generated by the very high resolution DMC3/TripleSat constellation, and our team of geoscience and remote sensing experts, we are making it easy to transform unknowns into knowns. And with 80cm pixel resolution and up to daily revisits from the constellation of three identical satellites, those knowns become much clearer – anywhere on Earth.
We are enabling mining exploration and operations teams, as well as the investors and insurers that support them, to move beyond the use of a one-time satellite snapshot. We are empowering technical and non-experts alike to achieve near real-time insights into their assets and operations, from Northern Canada to West Africa, with ease and simplicity.
And where better to meet and discuss the application of very high resolution satellite imagery in mining and exploration than at the PDAC International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange. It is the world’s leading convention for people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration and finance, and is taking place in Toronto until 08 March at the Toronto Convention Centre.
Earth-i’s Dan Plant will be visiting the Convention and is available to meet any company interested in understanding more about the benefits of the DMC3/TripleSat Constellation. If you’d like to meet at the Convention e-mail Dan at dan.plant@earthi.space.co.uk
