Earth-i is attending the global Defence Geospatial Intelligence Conference (DGI) again this year, being hosted in London from the 28-30 January 2019. DGI is an annual event for the geospatial intelligence community with a specific focus on safety and security.to address major challenges.
This year’s conference sees Earth-i join the extensive programme of authoritative speakers over the 3-day conference. Earth-i’s Director of Defence, Security and Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sean Corbett CB MBE, has been invited to moderate a panel with representatives from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Joint Forces Intelligence Group and Illuminate.
The session, entitled ‘Rethinking the Role of Automation: How can We Further Reduce the Burden on the Analyst?’, will discuss how advances in data science could reduce the burden on the intelligence analyst. Sean Corbett brings significant operational experience and leadership to the debate, which he combines with a deep understanding of the UK and coalition intelligence environment.
DGI is Europe’s largest gathering dedicated to high-level discussion addressing the major challenges of the defence and government geospatial intelligence community. DGI hosts both a conference, as well as a large exhibition which attracts visitors and exhibitors from across the world.
Earth-i will be located in the main exhibition hall, on stand number 21. Earth-i is showcasing their ‘Intelligence as a Service’ offering, derived from a unique combination of commercial satellite data and a highly experienced team in defence intelligence.
Sean Corbett commented: “I have attended this excellent forum in uniform over a number of years. It provides a great platform to discuss and explore developments and innovation in the geospatial community as applied to defence problem-sets. I am now excited to provide a perspective from the commercial viewpoint, where I believe Earth-i has significant new value and thinking to offer the defence intelligence community as a commercial supplement to their existing capabilities.”
